Taurine Side Effects

Taurine has been shown to encourage removal of toxins through binding together with harmful toxins and in so doing quickening their excretion from your body. Normally adequate amounts of taurine are produced in the human body, but it is believed that in some situations or under certain conditions (e.g. situations of high stress or physical exertion), elevated amounts of taurine are eliminated from the body and cannot be replaced by the body in sufficient amounts, in which case vitamins might help.

Even though the benefits of taurine have not been extensively analyzed, human clinical studies suggest taurine may be effective for controlling a number of conditions including alcohol withdrawal, congestive heart failure and cystic fibrosis. Taurine supplements of 300mg to 2g Per day has also been used for the control over diabetes, epilepsy, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia, liver disease, and anxiety despite the lack of supporting scientific data. While there is no confirmed safe maximum, the negative effects associated with taurine are not common including mild looseness of the bowels and constipation .
