Dieting shopping list/questions? | The Energy Drinks Buzz!!

since leaving highschool i gained like 40lbs. that was 4 years ago. i used to play sports like everyday and was keeping my weight down. But after highschool, i had less and less time for sports but kept eating the same amount. The biggest problem i have is choosing what to eat. And a bigger problem is that i live at my grandparents house for the time being….you know what that means….home cookin and i mean fatty/carb loaded goodness. (fried chicken, mashed potateos, veggies cooked in butter, biscuits, deep fried food, pork chops, bacon, eggs,…etc)ive been cutting back on how much i eat. But the types of food that we have are not healthy.
I want to know what types of foods to buy and eat. What should be on my shopping list? what foods can take up a large part of my diet? Is eating subway really good for u or just not as bad for u? Is water really all i need to drink? or juice too? im a picky eater and it usually isnt the healthiest food. also what are healthy snacks i can get?

I am in the same situation you are in. I live with my parents and the food they cook is very hight in fat. I started to buy my own food so I wouldnt eat theirs. You have to talk to them and let them know that you can no longer eat their food because you need to loose weight. What helped me was that i went to the doctor and they told me my blood pressure was a bit high and my cholesterol. So what did i do, i told my parents. That way I didnt hurt their feelings because the doctor told me to change my lifestyle.

I am also a picky eater. Do not drink juice, only water. You can change the taste with a lemon or an orange. Juices have calories that you don’t really need and do not fill you up. The calories add up at the end of the day.

I hate vegetables to death. What you can do is spice up the vegetables or put low fat ranch dressing on them to tolerate them. I am now trying to eat as much vegetables as possible. Not only are they low in calories, but also fill you up nicely. Vegetables i recommend are brocolli, green beans, and squash. Anything else i hate to the core.
